菲律宾抗议中国在南中国海提图岛附近的“不断部署，长期存在和非法活动”，这是两国之间持续紧张关系的最新体现。

菲律宾外交部周六在推特上要求中国撤回海上资产和渔船。菲律宾方面称，这一被称为“Pag-asa”的岛屿“是菲律宾不可分割的一部分，菲律宾对其拥有主权和管辖权”。

据彭博社报道，过去几周来，南中国海争议水域的紧张局势不断升级，马尼拉一再抗议并要求中国船只离开其声称在其管辖范围内的区域。不过，尽管菲律宾一再呼吁，中国还是部署了更多船只。
