有消息稱，美國司法部威脅要把永利渡假村的創始人史蒂夫·永利（Steve Wynn）告上法庭，理由是他遊說特朗普政府為中國提供外交支持。

根據《華爾街日報》的報導，在2018年因性行為不端指控而辭去永利渡假村主席兼首席執行官職位後又售出全部股份的永利，曾在2017年試圖說服特朗普政府將商人郭文貴印度回中國。郭文貴在2014年被指控賄賂和性侵犯後逃亡美國，被中國認定為逃犯。

《華爾街日報》稱，美國司法部已經根據《外國代理人註冊法》（FARA）要求永利註冊為外國政府代理人。據悉其已收集大量證據，並準備上告法庭迫使他執行。

據稱永利曾在2017年直接向時任總統特朗普直接遞交了一封來自中國政府的有關於郭文貴的信件。據悉郭當時也是特朗普的Mar-a-Lago度假勝地的會員。

永利的律師Reid Weingarten週三發表聲明，反駁了這些指控。

他表示：「Steve Wynn從未為中國或其他任何國家做過代理人或說客。他只是忠實的把訊息傳遞給我們的政府。」

永利渡假村在通過子公司永利澳門有限公司營運兩家綜合度假村永利澳門及永利皇宮。
